What is quick commerce?

हिंदी में पढ़ें: क्विक कॉमर्स क्या है?

Groceries and more, delivered in minutes from small stores close to you.

Quick commerce is the kind of online shopping where an order reaches you in minutes rather than days. The apps keep a few thousand of the things people buy most in small stores spread across a city, often called dark stores because they are closed to walk-in shoppers. Each store delivers to the homes a few kilometres around it, so a rider has only a short way to go.

It began with groceries and daily needs. Now there are apps for 10-minute food, fashion, beauty and pet supplies too. In India we count 11,844 quick commerce stores on 14 apps, in 544 towns.

How an order works

  • The app checks your address and hands the order to the nearest store that serves it.
  • A picker in the store collects and packs it in a couple of minutes.
  • A rider takes it the last few kilometres.

That is why the same app can deliver on one street and not the next, and why it matters which apps have a store near you. Check your pincode.
